] i : I I . J i I i 1 ARRIVALS AT ARLINGTON Eight Horses of H. J. Macomber, Including Masked Marvel and Sun God II., Eeach Chicago. Eight horses, comprising the pick of. the Mira Monte Stock Farm of Southern California, arrived at Arlington Park yesterday. It is the first of over a hundred prominent racing stables that have requested stable space at Arlington Park to arrive at the huge racing plant. II. J. Macomber. one of the best known breeders in the country, is the owner of the horses and the farm. He is a brother of A. King Macomber, and although an American, maintains the leading breeding establishment in France and races extensively in both France and England. The French bred Masked Marvel and Sun God II. the latter ran second in the Coffroth Handicap are in the string. These two are probably the most traveled pair of thoroughbreds in training. Both were shipped to San Jose. Calif., from France the latter part of last October and now both have returned half way across the continent to participate in a vigorous spring and summer campaign at Arlington and the other mid-western tracks an und Chicago. Another promising member of the party is the winner of the Tijuana Oaks. Buckeye Belie, undoubtedly the best three-year-old filly in training at the Southern California course last winter. The rest of the lot, War Instigator, War Buddy, War Hawk, War Court and War Rose, are all two-year-olds and are the get of War Fame, a son of the famous War Cloud. All of them have shown well in races and in training gallops. They aie named in nearly all the prominent two-year-old events in the Middle West. . _ _ — — —
