| j j „ j , . SMITHVILLE OPENS TODAY KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 11.— The spring meeting of the Missouri Jockey Club will get under way tomorrow and the management looks for successful racing. Many of the best half-mile performers in the country are now quartered at the track and the stalls are filled to overflowing. The feature of the opening days racing will be the Inaugural Purse, which has attracted some of the best horses at the course. The management has made special preparations to entertain an overflow c rowd, and enthusi- asm in Kansas City over the meeting is at a high pitch. Judge Lee J. Rose, who officiates at Tijuana during the winter, will preside over ■ the racing and will be assisted by E. C. Kne-blekamp • as rating secretary and judge, and Arthur McKnight, a Kansas City man, as starter.
