■ I NEW YORK TURF NOTES 4 _ |i NEW YORK, N. T., May 11. A sale of horses in training, in addition to the disposal of the Foxhall Keene lot, will he conducted by E. J. Trantor in the paddock at Belmont Park on May 2G. Jockey W. Long- arrived from the West and will ride for Bud Fisher. Funeral services for the late John Boone will be held from his home, 677 Fifty-ninth Street, Brooklyn, Saturday morning at 9 :30 oclock. The Elks, of which he was a member, held their services at his home Friday night. Clarence Buxton has secured the contract on the apprentice C. Shea from W. T. Anderson. Captor was purchased at private terms today from the Rancocas Stable by N. L. Byers. Trainer Bill Knapp escaped serious injury in an auto accident near the Jamaica track today. His machine was wrecked when another car ran into him. J. Murphy claimed Jim Crow from Mrs. L . Viau, out of the final race, for ,000. Binki, which carried the Rancocas silks in the fifth race, was claimed by Peter Reilly for ,000. A. II. Branson claimed Short Price, out of the first race, from W. T. Anderson for ,000. Swing High, a four-year-old by Fair Play — Balancoire II., was purchased by -Dick McNealy from the Greentree Stable. M. Rowan will train the horse. Jockey L. Geving arrived from Columbus, Ohio. Bob Shannon, acting- for Bud Fisher, purchased the contract on W. Iiang from Al. Cr. Woodman at private terms.
