FIRE CLOW improved his position steadily after overcoming early interference and outfinished GREY CHIEF in the final drive. The latter raced close tip all the way, "but tired badly near the end. OBEY COAT ran a good race throughout. BIRD CATCHER also ran well. DON RICARDO had no mishaps. Scratched— 2 4500 Mezzo, 114. C% A £*£*/and SECOND EACE— About 2 Miles Coligny Steeplechase. F.URMOUNT jumped well and led throughout, withstood a hallenge from SKEDADDLE after taking the tenth jump and drew away to win under restraint. SKEDADDLE jumped well, but made a bad landing at the fifth jump, then moved up gamely wl.cn called on, but could not reach the winner. HEROD ANTIPAS was always outrun and was poorly ridden when taking the jumps. LUNAR and PAYCOCK were always outrun. SUN WORSHIP improved his position steadily and finished fast on the inside. BATTLESHIP GRAY showed speed and, taking the lead, raced gamely and tired near the end. BARGELLO finished gamely. DOLAN responded to hard riding in the stretch and finished fast. HONKER set a fast pace, but came wide when entering the stretch and tired. II1LIKA was always outrun. Won easily; second and third the same. VICTORIAN raced in close up pursuit under restraint to the home stretch, then moved up fast on the outside into the lead and won easing up. MOWLEE raced under restraint to the far turn and moved up menacingly when called on. then raced on even terms with the leader for a time, but was tiring at the end. POLYDOR showed groat speed from the start, set a great pace and saved ground when entering the stretch, but tired and swerved at the last eighth post. ALGERNON began slowly, but gained steadily in the final eighth. SUN EDWIN was always outrun. PROPUS was on the inside all the way and had no mishaps. GERARD was eased up when he tired.
