BOTANIC was in close quarters and far beck until rounding the last turn, then secured a clear course in the home stretch and, coming fast, got up to win in the last stride. TORRENCE followed the pacemakers closely and passed MONT DAISY in the final eighth, but tired right at the end. MONT DAISY showed the most early speed, saved ground where possible and finished well. FENT.IGHT saved much ground on the stretch turn and finished fast. GOLDEN TWIG raced well. SWEIT had a rough, race. HOITY TOITY was racing fast when she stumbled midway of the back stret h and fell back. PENS CHIC ran away three-quarters before the race. The latter, messed about in the early stages, came through a narrow passage between the leaders curing the stretch run and finished with a rush. ATOMIN", well up throughout, finished fast. KOSCIUSKO showed a good performance. SAM SMITH tired after displaying good earlv speed. LK VOYANT was in repeated trouble.
