Others are Bobashela, winner of the Chesa- peake Stakes and with an impressive mile workout to his credit; Martie Flynn, a consistent factor in Kentuckys racing, being beaten only once this season ; Typhoon, with good spring record in Maryland ; Galahad, a German-bred colt, and Mop Up and Leyland, both lightly regarded and doubtful starters. Misstep, which, with Mop Up. forms the Le Mar Stock Farm Stale entry, will rule favorite, with Toro, Bobashela and Solace vieing as second choices. Hard rains this morning left the track ift muddy condition and, while the skies remained threatening throughout the afternoon, prospects for a fast track rest only with the weather, as the course dries sufficiently fast to be at its best by tomorrow afternoon if there is no further rainfall. Continued cloudiness and a prospect of more rain, ho—ever, will preclude a fast track. Toro and Martie Flynn arrived here this morning after a night trip from Churchill Downs, the former coming in charge of J. T. Final workouts for the Derby were indulged in this morning by Bobashela, Typhoon and Galahad. The former two went a half mile, Bobashela breezing in A9%, and Typhoon going handily in :48%. Galahad stepped a mile in lAiYs handily. With all ten horses starting, the race will be worth 530,720, of which the second horse receives ,000, the third ,500, and the fourth 50. An extensive visiting delegation made itself felt during the afternoon, and there is every indication that a record attendance, surpassing that which witnessed the memorable struggle between Haste and Bagenbaggage, will be on hand to view the third decision at Fairniount Park. Betting activities about the contenders continue in hectic fashion, but the uniform play on all the expected starters has caused a stabilization of price. Misstep is still favorite at 2 to 1, with Toro, Bobashela and Solace each at 4 to 1. Jack Higgins is 6 to 1 ; Galahad and Martie Flynn, 10 to 1 each. Typhoon is 20 to 1 and Leyland is 100 to 1.
