AURORA TURF NOTES # — 4 AURORA, 111.. June 1. Jockey C. Landolt reported sick today and was forced to cancel all of his riding engagements. Black Darling is now in the hands of Mrs. R. Pollard, having been claimed by that stable from the Irwin Live Stock and Show Company on Thursday at a cost of ,200. Jockey A. Pendergrass reported at jockeys quarters this morning for the first time since his fall from Spanish Princess in the In Memoriam Handicap, on Wednesday. Jockey Pendergrass is still feeling pretty sore from his fall, but will be able to resume riding at Arlington Park on Monday, opening day there. Jockey E. T. Moore packed up his riding tack and made his departure for Canadian points, probably bound for Toronto, Ont. J. B. Partridge was a visitor at Exposition Park today and will have eighteen horses quartered at Arlington Park, to be raced during the twenty-four days racing. Frankie Otis leaves Saturday night for Omaha, Neb., to act as paddock and patrol judge at the Ak-Sar-Ben meeting. Zola Corbet, one of the lady riders for the fourth race today, who had the mount on Blue Beans, failed to report to the clerK of the scales at weighing in time, and the stewards ordered Blue Beans scratched. J. P. Welshs stallion Chief Curry, which served fourteen mares, has been sent to W. R. Armstrongs farm in Kentucky for three years service in the stud there. Chief Curry was bred to Fehrah, Majoe, Jean Seth, Countess Claridge, Mary Connors, Margaret Gaut, Annie Coughlin, Bootsie, Tailor Maid and others. J. P. Welsh will ship his horses to Arling. ton Park, from here on Saturday. They include Margaret Gaut, La Reotte and two two-year-olds. The Welsh horses will be trained by J. Bainton. Jockey J. Parmelee, who was kicked while at the post astride Gold Mint in a race here, when Pat Field kicked both the rider and his mount badly, has been getting around on crutches, but has about recovered now and will be back in the saddle in a short time. Jockey C. E. Allen made his departure for Fairmount Park to ride Jack Higgins in the Fairmount Derby on Satuday. Jockey Allen will return to ride at the Arlington Park meeting after filling this engagement.
