: i • i ENTRIES NOW NUMBER 373 Fifteen Additional Nominations Received at Second Closing of American National Futurity. ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., June 22.— Fifteen additional entries to the American National Futurity, to be run at Arlington Park September 8, were announced Thursday by racing secretary William Dondas of the American National Jockey Club. These were the nominations received for the second closing of the stake June 15, and added to the 358 entries received on the first closing date, March 1, swell the total number of nominations to 373. It cost owners 0 for each nomination on the first closing, while for the second closing the nomination fee was 00. The stake will be one of the most valuable two-year-old fixtures in the country. The second closing of a stake is not altogether unusual. At the time the original nominations were invited announcement was made of the second closing, which has just been completed. By this second closing the wisdom of the plan is apparent, the addition of a number of first rate two-year-olds to the list has been made possible, . including some that have shown enough in their racing since March 1 to warrant their nominations. Martin Finns Port Harlem and J. J. Coughlins Roguish Eye are notable examples. The former, by her three winning races at Churchill Downs, including the Debutante Stakes, proved to be the outstanding filly of that meeting, while Roguish Eye, by his success in the Bashford Manor Stakes, at the same track, demonstrated his quality. The addition of these crack juveniles to the nominations of the Arlington Park Futurity will add considerable to the interest in that stake. Following are the fifteen nominations to the stake received for its second closing: Mrs. A. Wallins My Girl. John J. Coughlins Roguish Eye and Eminence, R, P. Marshalls Stylish Mack, Audley Farms Badger Face, A. P. Canales High Score, Idle Hour Farm Stables Braggadocio and Bootland, E. B. McLeans Lilverdale, Martin Finns Port Harlem, Ben Supers My Davy, Berman Stables Itoyal Ruby, Miss D. Healys Virado, J. N. Camdens Fraxinella, Miss Peggy B. Baileys Burning Sun. Saturday, June 30, the closing day of the Arlington meeting, is the date selected for the disposal sale of the horses belonging to the Brown Shasta Stock Farm of H. D. Brown. The sale will be held in the Arlington Park paddocks at noon, Chicago daylight saving time. Thirteen horses are due to be sold, and these include: Shasta Queen, Shasta Klan, Shasta Nun, Shasta Maple, Shasta Oak. Shasta Apple, Shasta Lady, Shasta Baldy, Shasta Ornament, Shasta Pebble, Shasta Osange, Shasta Falls and Shasta Prune.
