LATONIA TURF NOTES S f, LATONIA, Ky., June 22. Jockey Earl Pool has been engaged to ride the Foxcatcher Farm Stables good filly Pink Biiy in the rich 1-atonia Oaks. The horse Gold Handle, owned by C. E. Hamilton, is ailing as the result of an injury inflicted by a plating nail. Robert McLean of Lexington was among the visitors today and plans to remain for the Derby. A division of the Audley Farm Stable, embracing about ten horses, will be raced at Raceland and Dade Park during the summer meetings at those tracks. Miller Henderson, trainer of Bobashela, got in from Fairmount Park and took charge of the Audley Farm Stables colt Chancellor. For the first time in the history of the stake, the owner of the successful horse in Saturdays Latonia Derby will receive, in addition to the rich purse, a handsome silver trophy provided by the Latonia Jockey Club. Among the many formidable stables going from here to Lincoln Fields is the successful establishment of the Harned Brothers ot Louisville. The Harned Brothers colors are well known at that popular track. Leo J. Marks, owner of Misstep and other horses trained by Mose Lowenstein. arrived from Chicago this morning and will remain for the Derby. Following the Derby, Misstep will be returned to Arlington Park, according to his owner. The horses Gallahad, Gotham, and Capt George Foster, which Phil Reuter brought here from Fairmount Park, will fill engagements here next week and then go to Lincoln Fields in charge of Tom Sanford, who ii expected to handle a division of the Reuter Stable in the future. . Trainer Lowenstein sent Misstep to the track for a final test of his speed and when the colt ran three-eighths in :3G5 he might have exceeded the expectations of his capable conditioner. Pigeon Hole was sent five-eighths in 1 :03, driviner, after which trainer Johnny Daniels said he expected him to run a good race if the track is fast. Pigeon Hole carries the hopes of the Head-ley stable for a second victory in the Derby, which fell to that establishments sturdy filly Handy Mandy last year. H. Neustetter shipped his stable of seven horses to Hamilton, Ont. Jockey L. Woodstock and L. Feeney accompanied the establishment. Former Senator John N. Camden is expected to be among the visitors for the Derby. H. P.- Headleys Cannon Club has been added to the sale of horses in training to be held here next week. R. S. Clarks Wood Lore and Wisdom. J. O. Keenes Don Diego and E. B. McLeans Greenock were shipped to Arlington Park Thursday night for the purpose of starting in the Rush Handicap at that course Saturday. E. Pool and T. Maguire were departures tonight for Arlington Park and Fair-mount Tark to ride in stakes at those tracks Saturday. Al. Luzader will ship the horses Dingo and Nonchalant to Raceland for the opening of that meeting July 4. Bobashela was given his final preparation for the Latonia Derby when he galloped a half mile in :48%. over the slow track, between races. Friday afternoon. The colt displayed a willingness to give more speed, and pleased trainer S. M. Henderson by the manner in which he worked.
