VANQUISH was shuffled back at the start and raced far back for the first half mile, but, coming to the inside in the stretch, dosed an immense gap and got up to win in the final strides. GOLDEN ART savtd ground while racing forwardly on the inside and took the lead an eighth away, but was ©utfinisht d THISTLE STAR moved up Cast on the outside into the lead vhen entering the stretch. but tired in the final drive. BUNOLIN closed up some ground and ran a good race. NANCY BYRD also closed a big gap. VELA and DISCREET quit after showing early speed and so did FAIR ARGUMENT. JUNIOR SETI1 amis dose up in the first quarter, but was sharply impeded and knocked back. SALUTATION raced iu closest pursuit to the last eighth and began tiring. SHASTA LA showed early speed, but quit badly. FRANK ANDREWS, hard ridden, raced forwardly at all stages and made a game challenge in the stretch, but was not good enough.
