COL. MATT WINN RETURNS Brings Word That Nearly All Big Stables at Latonia Will Be Shipped to Lincoln Fields. With the return of Col. Matt J. Winn from Latonia affairs at Lincoln Fields took on a new life. The executive director of the Crete track brought back word that practically all of the big stables at the Milldale course will the opening week and thi remainder of their stake eligibles for the three big features of the opening week and the remaindr of their establishments will follow when Latonia ends. Track superintendent Tom Young also came back from the Latonia track and found numerous applications for stalls from various parts of the country. He had Lincoln Fields almost dried out when the rain came up Saturday morning and the deluge of Sunday night put it back where it was twenty-four hours previous. Warm weather is predicted for the end of the week, in the event of which a fast tack may be expected for opening day. The influx of horses is now well under way to Lincoln Fields. Most of the arrivals have been racing in these parts. It will be the latter part of the week before the out-of-town thoroughbreds get in. The Longridge Stable, in charge of W. G. Yanke, will be moved over to Lincoln Fields Thursday. Jockey Joe Kederis is with this establishment. Judge Charles F. Price, who will serve in the stewards stand at Lincoln Fields, and William II. Shelley, racing secretary, will Rave Latonia early in the week. Toro, which won the Latonia Derby, will be shipped to 1-ineoln Fields with the rest of the E. B. McLean band and, unless the unforeseen occurs, he will fill his engagement in the 5,000 added Lincoln Handicap, to be run on July 7. Weights fcr this event will be announced on next Monday. Weights for the Crete Handicap, ,000 added, for three-year-olds and upward, to be run on the opening day of the meeting, are due tomorrow. It is over the distance of three-quarters.
