Galliger Placing Judges — CollinsYille Handicap Opening Bay Feature. 1 ■ COLLINSVILLE, 111.. May 13.— In the first issue of the program book of the spring meeting at Fairmount Park, which provides for the first eight days of the thirty-seven-day meeting, racing secretary J. B. Campbell has given consideration to the class of the horsss expected to race for the liberal purses provided. Condition races will feature each days program with ,200 in added money, in addition to the early closing stakes and the ,000 Decoration Day Handicap as the head-liner of the card of Thursday, May 30. The Collinsville Handicap, with ,000 in added money, the entries for which closed March 30 with sixty-two nominations, will provide the stellar attraction for the inaugural day, Saturday, May 25. Entries for the ,000 Decoration Day Handicap will close Tuesday, May 28. with weights and declarations the following day. In addition to the 5,000 Fairmount Derby, the program of Saturday, June 1, provides for the St, Louis Handicap over three-quarters and the Missouri Handicap at one mile and a sixteenth. Each carry an added money value of ,200 and are for three-year-olds and over. Entries for these races will close Thursday, May 30, with weights and declarations Friday, May 31. With the appearance of the first issue of the condition book, general manager C. Bruce Head announced the personnel of the racing officials. With J. B. Campbell and A. T. Spivey, Capt. E. C. Walker of Frankfort, Ky., will serve as a member of the board of stewards. Brownell Berryman, R. S. Shelley and P. C. Galliger will be the placing judges, George Gray the paddock judge, A. W. Maher, the patrol judge, and James Griffin, the timer. J. I. Kissane will be Shelleys assistant as clerk of the scales. William Snyder will be starter and Campbell as racing secretary will act with Berryman and Shelley on the board of handicappers. With the exception of Captain Walker all of the racing officials have served at previous meetings at Fairmount Park. Walker is well known in racing circles as an experienced and competent official.
