Further Racing at Akron Depends On Decision of Court $ — ■ $ AKRON, Ohio, May 13.— Although the eighteen day meeting of the Akron Jockey Club has only run six days to the schedule, the racing came to an abrupt end at Northampton Park this afternoon. The decision not to continue today was reached following a conference late last night by county authorities and the local track management. Whether the meeting will be opened later depends upon a court decision which will be rendered following a hearing tomorrow morning. General manager S. S. Steinmetz, together with a ticket seller and cashier, will be arraigned and the donation system will be put to a test. Sheriff Bollinger is away on an important mission in Alabama and has not taken any personal action as yet regarding the situation. Deputy sheriff John Sellars has acted in behalf of the sheriff during the latters absence. Sheriff Bollinger is expected to return tomorrow. The name of Judge W. E. Pardee has been prominently connected with those opposed to the continuation of the racing. This, despite the fact that Judge Pardee has always been looked upon locally as a friend of the sport. . - A ,
