The latter dropped back after the start, improved his position steadily and finished fast. ORI.AN raced prominently all the way and outlasted MERRY ANDREW. The latter closed with good courage. THUNDER CALL quit under pressure. COAT OMAIL, outrun to the far turn, moved up steadily when called on and, challenging the leaders after entering the stretch and heading MAD SKETCH, outgamed him at the end. The latter rushed Into the lend while rounding the first turn and, setting a good pace, made a game finish. GREAT AMERICAN raced gamely and saved ground where possible. RUSSET had no mishaps. TACKLE, away in a tangle, improved his position with a rush and was going fastest of all at the finish. TALKY followed the early leaders closely and finished gamely. SANTA SOPHIA came again at the end. LESSETTO and MONEY ORDER were eased up in the final eighth. Scratched— 35726 Jolly Pal, 112. Overweight — Lessetto, 1 pound.
