ALINE BENSINGER raced fast from the start and, heading MORGANNA when entering the stretch. took a long lead and won eased up to a canter. MORGANNA began fast and saved ground where possible, but was tiring in the final eighth and barely lasted to outfinish PANSY WALKER. The latter began well, raced close up under restraint and finished gamely. VIEUX CARRE closed up much ground in the last quarter. NELLIE BASIL swerved badly after entering the stretch and could not be hard ridden. DIXIE STAR tired. MISS MATT was always outrun. THUNDER GIRL was away poorly and raced far back to the final three-eighths, where she closed a gap and finished fast. MADAM EMEI.IE had no mishaps. WINDY CITY, taken to the inside shortly after the start, raced in close quarters to the stretch, where he came with a rush and, being lucky in getting through on the inside, got up to win in the final strides. PARAPHRASE, showing fine speed in the going, took a clear lead after going the first quarter and came wide when entering the stretch and, after regaining the lead from PORT HARLEM in the final eighth, barely failed to outfinish the winner. PORT HARLEM, close up from the first quarter, took a small lead near the finish, but tired. NAISUAP1 R was raced wide, but closed a big gap and finished fastest of all. LORD BRAEDALBANE began slowly and was going fast at the end. DOUBLB HEART and THE CHOCTAW tired. ERVAST was done after going five-eighths. Scratched— 3G073 Boris, 114.
