TURN OVER racing in his best form and a forward factor from the start, quickly overcame interference from THE BAT on the stretch turn and, going to the extreme outside, closed resolutely and got np to the lead in the final seventy yards. THE BAT, never far back, raced into a short lead after reaching the final quarter and held on well. SOUTHLAND BOY began sluggishly and raced wide while working his way up and made a game finish. FAIR ROSALIND, easily best, raced up fast in the first quarter, then followed under strong restraint to the stretch, where she easily disposed of BETTY ANN and won with speed in reserve. BETTY ANN took a clear lead in the early racing, but went wide when entering the stretch, but held on well. VIEUX CARRE closed resolutely after saving much ground. DUSKY MAIDEN showed nothing. WOOLORAC, slow to begin and taken back repeatedly, closed gamely. AMSTERDAM was done after reaching the stretch. Overweight — Alcman, 1 pound. YUCATAN raced close up under restraint to the stretch, where he failed to respond. MARY GARDNER showed an even effort. IETER DIXON was hard hustled throughout.
