WAtKET, forcing a good pace, followed close to the pacemaker, responded to bard riding when called on and, moving into the lead in the last eighth, was going away at the end. TEWSENELDA began quickly and, taking the lead, was steadied along and held on well when overtaken. HIGH DELL, on the outside in the early racing, saved ground when entering the home stretch and was gaining slowly at the end. GODDESS was never dangerous. BELLE OF GOVANS, unable to keep pace early, saved ground where possible and made up ground in the last three-eighths. CAMPANINI, racing close up for the first three-quarters, was hard urged, but was unable to threaten the winner. LIGHT VIEW, in close quarters soon after the start, was raced hard in the early sta"cs end tired badly when put to a drive. ROCKSLIDE, given a slight respite after racing in a forward position, secured a clear passage on the inside until reaching the stretch turn, then came to the outside of the pacemaker and, continuing gamely, took the lead and was slowly drawing clear. VELLAS, rated along in front, shook off early contention from FIRE BRIGADE, and saved ground, but tired in the last eighth. MILLSON, outpaced for three quarters, closed resolutely. MILAIilA showed a good effort. FIRE BRIGADE had too much taken out of him in getting into contention and he tired badlv at the end. GREAT ROCK, took a contending position at once, seemed racing room on the inside when making his rush when rounding the far turn, then came to the outside in the stretch run and, wearing his opposition down under hard riding, drew clear at the end. NON STOP, prominent in the earlv racing, disposed of TROJIS at the final eighth post and held on gamely to the end. TROJIS moved into a winning lead midway of the back stretch and being restrained thereafter, continued gamely when urged. LADY ALU MELR showed sliced. W1IEATST1CK could never reach the leaders.
