TCHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES ? Q fc LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 27. Alex Me»ger, Cincinnati turfman, this morning shipped the horses he is training for Furst Bros, of that city and others to La-tonia. Elijah Hogg, one of the Churchill Downs stewards, returned today from his home at Morehead, Ky., to where he was called by the death of his daughter. Phil Grosser, in the employ of the Audley Farm, Tuesday morning will wed Miss Ella Marie Rueff, of St. Matthews, Ky. The ceremony will be conducted by Father Besant, of Holy Trinity Church. According to information from E. R. Bradleys Idle Hour Stock Farm, the three-year-old Bay Beauty, which came out of the Derby with a deep laceration to one of his legs, is now showing gradual improvement after experiencing four or five days of severe pain, as the injury developed considerable inflammation. Jacques Cohan, who maintains the Jacques Stable, is a visitor. His horses, including Es-sare, a candidate for the Fairmount and American Derbys, are to be shipped from here either to Fairmount Park or Washington Park. Mr. Cohan is to select the track of their future campaigning Tuesday. •
