KEEHAN had the best of the start and, showing good speed, maintained the lead for the entire race* but had to be hard urged near the end. THISTLE JOHN, also away well, raced closest to the leader from the start and forced the latter wide at the stretch turn and finished gamely at the end. ULTIMATE VOTE, much the best, was away slower than the others, raced wide in the early running, but showed fine speed thereafter. LADY LOUISE had to overcome some early interference. SANDY HAMPTON, under an energetic ride, was rushed into the lead at once and, hard urged to the stretch, held the others safe. NELLIE BALLOT raced prominently most of the way. but had to come wide in the stretch and finished well. GRIFF W. began slowly and was ridden wide all the way and closed a good gap. RED ROUE closed a big gap and saved much ground in the stretch. CLARIE AMOUR began tiring in the last sixteenth. The latter, probably best, lost ground by being forced to race wide and hung a trifle at the end. MACKS BABY, well up from the start, raced gamely. HIGH LIFE tired slightly during the last eighth. RUNAWAY PRINCESS tired during the last eighth. GOLD MINT was unpri pared at the start and closed a good gap. W1LDRAKE broke badly, being unprepared at the ■tart and was always far out of it. SUNNY PORT was away slowly and raced wide during the entire race. EDDIE LEHMANN was going strong at the finish after dosing a gap. BLACK DARLING tired badly.
