TOWNROW SUBSTITUTED TORONTO, Ont., May 27.— The stewards of the Thorncliffe Jockey Club evidently are determined to keep the sport here on a high standard and those guilty of any infractions of the rules will be brought up with a sharp turn. Jockey Fishman had the mount on Great Rock in the seventh race and some surprise was expressed when he was taken down and Tomnrow substituted. This was explained later on when a ruling was issued, which read : "The stewards of the Thorncliffe Jockey Club would not give M. Fish-man permission to ride, pending inquiry." What their investigation was about was not divulged, but that will develop later on.
