FERSETH COLLAPSES TORONTO, Ont., May 30.— After the finish of the first race Wednesday, Ferseth, the heavily-played favorite, collapsed in front of the judges stand. The horse appeared to be suffering from a stroke. He would arise only to collapse again and it was with great difficulty that he was finally led off the track. The following report from the official veterinarian, Dr. C D. McGilvray, was handed out by the stewards regarding the condition of the racer Ferseth. Stewards Canadian Racing Association: "Dear Sirs : This is to certify that I have carefully examined the bay gelding Ferseth at the Thorncliffe Park race track on May 29. I found this horse attacked with heat stroke, manifested by slight attacks of frenzy and high temperature. He recovered quite rapidly following cold applications to the head and body and his temperature reduced to 1021£. This animal did not show any indication of having been previously stimulated with drugs." ♦
