NAMED FOR COUNTY CLERK Washington Parks Saturday Feature Is Robert M. Sweitzer Handicap, ,000 Added. Washington Parks feature race Saturday afternoon is the Robert M. Sweitzer Handicap, ?5,000 added, for three-year-olds and over. It is named in honor of one who is prominent in the affairs of Cook county and one whose enthusiasm for the development of rating in Chicago is of long duration. He is associated with judges Charles F. Price and M. Nathanson in the stewards â– tand at Washington Park. The field in this one mile and an eighth contest includes some of the fastest thoroughbreds in training. Joseph McLennan, racing secretary, in assigning top weight, 124 pounds, to the Inaugural winner, Misstep, imposed and burden trainer Lowenstein hesitates to ask the star of the Leo J. Marks stable to carry. Another reason is that Misstep is being given special preparation for the Francis S. Peabody Memorial Handicap, 0,000 added, over one mile and a quarter on the final day of the Washington Park meeting Saturday, June 29. Among the eligibles for this are Easter Stockings, King Nadi, Golden Prince, Boo, Mowlee, Martie Flynn, Flat Iron, Essare, Toro, Sir Harry, Gaffsman, Dowagiac, Galahad and others. The probable field in the Robert M. Sweitzer Handicap will include the Rancoeas stables Mowlee, which is at his best at one mile or more. He is ready now. With 118 pounds up he should be able to show a return of the form he displayed in Maryland. Others are the Coffroth winner, Golden Prince, with 114, two less than the impost of Martie Flynn, 116. Sir Harry will have up 114 pounds ; Chicago, 113 ; Flat Iron, 112 ; King Nadi is in with 112, Boo, 109 ; Leucite, 108 ; Barbara, Crossco and Windy City, 107 ; Ruane. 104; Black Beetle and Chip, 102; Duelist, 101, Buttered Toast, 100, and Mc-Gonigle 103. The last named is the latest acquisition to the stable of Stuyvesant Peabody. He showed good trials for the Kentucky Derby. Last winter he was more than useful in New Orleans racing. His consistency was as unusual as his speed. Saturdays attractions are exceptional. In addition to the main event there will be the Old Town Handicap, the Kenwood and Middle Classes. There will be races at more than a mile.
