ASCOT GOLD CUP FAVORITE Invershin First Choice in Great English Race — Reign Count One of Third Choices. LONDON, England, June 17. — The American-bred four-year-old colt Reign Count, owned by Mrs. John D. Hertz, is listed among the favorites for the classic Ascot Gold Cup, contested over the trying distance of two miles and a half, which will be run Thursday. The son of Sunreigh — Cotitessina, is the equal third choice with Lord Derbys Cri de Guerre. Their price is 7 to 1. Invershin is the favorite. This aged son of Invincible — Ajantia, which races for Reid Walker and J. Wittoucks Palais Royale at 9 to 2. Baron Rothschilds Cacao is an 11 to 2 chance. The Ascot Gold Cup is the chief objective of the American colt. It was for this great race that he was primarily shipped to this country. His four previous starts, Lingfield Handicap, Newbury Spring Cup and Kempton Park Great Jubilee, in all of which he was unplaced and the Coronation Cup, which he won, were calculated to fit him for the big test this week. The Ascot Gold Cup will mark Reign Counts last appearance in competition in England and his retirement from racing for all time. He will be sent to the stud, standing at his owners establishment near Carv, 111. I *
