MATINEE GIRL began fast and, racing clear with a rush, continued fast under energetic handling, but had little left. CHU CHU worked her way up fast, bore out slightly on the turn, where she was taken to the inside and, failing to threaten the winner, lasted to outfinish SCOTLAND BLUES. The latter raced forwardly and held on gamely. LADY SUPERIOR, on the outside throughout, raced well. MONKS FOX was outrun. RITA ANN bolted on the turn and was pulled up. FREDERICK, favored by an inner post position and quick to get going, drew* clear on the turn and, setting a fast pace under urging, withstood STAR DANCER. The latter, close up from the start, lost ground on the stretch turn and improved his position while racing wide thereafter. ADOBE POST, probably best, began slowly, lost much ground, but closed fast. TELLICO showed good speed and held on well. TEXAS KNIGHT, slighly shuffled back, raced green. PRINCE FOX tired. The latter lost ground, but improved his position with a rush for an eighth after reaching the stretch, then tired. DON LEON raced forwardly, dropped back on the stretch turn, but outfinished BLIND BOWBOY under mild pressure. The latter began fast, opened up a long lead, then tired. Won easily; second and third driving. BARGELLO, easily best and showing speed from the start, bore out slightly on the first turn, readily disposed of PRINCE DAMOUR and, drawing out, won well in hand. ROYAL JULIAN, slow to get going, improved his position after five-eighths and closed fast. PLAYTIME moved up after a quarter and held on fairly well, but could not withstand ROYAL JULIAN. LADY BROADCAST trailed the others and could not get up. PRINCE DAMOUR tired after three quarters. JEFF ONEIL. taken to the lead, had speed and only gave way in the final eighth. WORKLESS began slowly. EARL OF WARWICK raced wide throughout and showed a fine effort. GOTOIT, up close under restraint the first three-quarters, weakened when called on. BURLAP had early speed.
