FLYING CHEROKEE, never far back, raced a trifle wide, responded gamely when called on and, wearing down the leaders, outstayed UPSWEEP. The latter began slowly, slipped through on the inside rounding the stretch turn and closed gamely. AIRDRIE LASS began fast, was shuffled back on the far turn and came through on the inside, closing ground in the stretch. MINCE PIE closed with a rush. SAN PRESTO had speed from the start, raced under restraint the first three quarters, but tired in the final drive BEST ACE. well up for the first three quarters, quit under pressure. WILD LAUREL tired. BUSY BETTY, taken across sharply, displaved early speed.
