PORTERS DREAM, away slowly, worked his way up with a saving of ground and slowly wore down FLUENT under pressure and, getting up in the last sixteenth, could not draw away. FLUENT raced into the lead with a rush, saved ground and held on well. MARCELET showed speed and raced evenly in the stretch. PREFER, quick to start, bore out slightly on the turn and tired. TYPHOON worked his way through close quarters in the stretch and closed fastest of all. AGITATOR, forced wide most of the way, challenged at the five eighths post, then tired. BACCIOCCO began slowly. CROSSBONES was in close quarters in the stretch. HERRICK weakened. HOT SHOT showed early speed. The latter forced a fast early pace and easily disposed of INDIAN RUNNER. ELKHART, close up, outstayed INDIAN RUNNER. The latter, very fractious at the post, but away well, saved ground, but weakened. NEWBURGER had no mishaps. RED VEST was outrun OH DAVE was in lose quarters in the stretch. PRINCE RENO began slowly.
