HOGANS DANCE, a factor from the start, took a short lead under hard riding in the last sixteenth and held MOTE safe by a narrow margin. MOTE raced close up and held on gamely. FORTUNATE MANN acted badly at the barrier and began slowly from outside the stall gate, but made up ground and was going fast at the end MERIWICK was in close quarters on the far turn. THUNDER CALL tired badly in the last eighth. WATCH ON could not get up and dropped back fast in the stretch. HILLOCK was knocked out of it at the start. MAILLIW quickly headed the others and. racing well, held on gamely in the final drive to resist the challenge of TIEMPO. The latter finished fast on the outside, but seemed to tire in the last ten yards. WISE CHEER was slow to get going and made up a big gap and finished fastest of all. HIPALOMA was always close up. Continued on twelfth page. AURORA Continued from third page. BURNING UP, away well and well ridden, saved ground on the turn and held JACK HOWE safe, to win going away. JACK HOWE lost several lengths by racing wide on the turns and his rider was of little : help to him in the stretch. SCONE showed early speed, but could not keep up. The others were never dangerous. TANGRAM could not keep up with the leaders in the early stages, although closing ground in the stretch. GAY HALLIE was shuffled back on the first turn. The others were never dangerous.
