DARK THORN, away forwardly and racing close to ANNIE A., displaced the latter when entering the stretch and, kept under urging, held EVEN UP safe. The latter, shuffled back early, moved up fast at the final eighth post, caused crowding while forcing his way up. but finished stoutly. ANNIE A. began quickly and, showing good speed, saved ground, but tired. DESERVE bore over when reaching the leaders. FAST STORM had a rough race. DAIS showed a brilliant flash of speed. BILLYCOCK moved up stoutly in the final half mile and. jumping boldly, disposed of ROYAL DOUL* TON approaching the last obstacle and outfinished NAZOR. The latter forced ROYAL DOULTON to a hard drive and held on gamely near the end. ROYAL DOULTON, fencing well while setting the pace, continued gamely, although quitting fast near the end. THE RED KNIGHT tired after going a mile and a half. JJNGLE had no mishaps. KING ALDER was forced to be taken up at the seventh fence When BCD BUD fell in front of him. TOE DANCE raced JEAN ODOON into early defeat and, drew into a winning lead leaving the back stretch, but tired fast in the last eighth and had to be ridden out sharply to withstand SCHERZANDO. The latter, kept close up. finished fast and was wearing down the winner. HUMBER SIDE showed a good performance. ICHITARO could not get up when put to a drive. THE HOVEL finished with a belated rush. PANDORlS quit. STEP OFF began well, but lacked speed. BAD NEWS BOB, rated along in front, withstood challenges from STORM, came again after being overtaken and fought it out stubbornly. STORM, a factor throughout, tired in the last eighth. SOLL GILLS tired after challenging on the far turn. IRISH MAIDEN was never a factor. ZAMBAR showed early speed, then quit. BUSHMAN worked his way up. took the lead on the stretch turn, but had to be hard ridden to outfinish FLYING WINGS. The latter was blocked when attempting to come through on the inside on the far turn, then went to the outside and closed fast. PLAYABIT moved up steadily, but was held safe. PETABIT raced evenly. KORAX made up a lot of ground in the last half mile. NIGHT SIGNAL had no excuses. CYMBAL tired earlv.
