MONTREAL, Que., May 25.— Long priced j winners and a continuation of the winning streak of jockey Mike Mitchell were features j holiday racing Delorimier Park with a capacity throng in attendance. Although the weather was again cloudy j chilly, it did not deter the fans and a crowd of well over 6,000 flocked into the popular old enclosure. The opening crowds thus far have been of a nature to encourage those interested in the welfare of racing locally and optimism is beginning to replace misgiving with which the outlook for- merly was viewed. Mitchell, who took a lead Saturday in the race for the jockeys cup and 0 in , gold donated by the Montreal Driving Club by scoring a triple, increased his mar- by riding the first two winners on the holiday afternoon. Both of these were well bached favorites. The first accident of the meeting came in fifth race, which was best on the card when Darkayress, one of the betting choices, went down while racing on the outside of field approaching the turn for home. Neither jockey Frederick or the horse suffered any injuries. The winner proved to be Flying Ambassador, ridden by the local boy Laurin. He moved up with a rush on the j turn to take command and was easily , jj best. I *
