ATLAS raced evenly. THE KING propped at the start. THISTLE DUKE was crowded back on the far turn. PAN was a contender throughout and held the others safe in the stretch. CORBEAU suffered interference on the far turn and closed steadily thereafter. NERVATOR closed considerable ground. ONE GRAND tired, as did NORMA JEAN. NELL KUHLMAN raced forwardly throughout and held on fairly well. MARMITINA raced into the lead with a rush on the inside in the final eighth, but tired. The others were alwavs outpaced. DALE LASS stumbled and lost her rider at the last eighth post. LASSA moved up fast on the outside after going half the distance and, wearing down PURPLE LIGHT an eighth out, was going his best at the end to retain his advantage. PHI DELTA began in a tangle, but quickly raced into contention and was bumped, but closed fast. PURPLE LIGHT showed the most speed until midwav of the stretch. MEP.IUTCK closed resolutely, as did PADDY FLAHERTY and HOGANS ALLEY. PERFECT ALIBI raced well for half a mile, then tired. PAQUETTE quit. CRUSHED STONE raced close up throughout and easily disposed of the others. MUFF was kicked on the chest by CRUSHED STONE while at the post, but improved her position and outgamed MERRY WINDSOR. The latter set a fast pace to the stretch. SHASTA LOVE found the distance too far. The others were always outpaced.
