MEMORIAL DAY AT HOMEWOOD Robert M. Sweitzer Handicap and Debutante Stakes, Each With ,000 Added, the Features. HOMEWOOD, 111., May 28.— Saturdays Memorial Day program at Washington Park offers some of the most important racing of the meeting. Renewals of the ,000 added Robert M. Sweitzer Handicap, for three-year-olds and over, and ,000 added Debutante Stakes for two-year-old fillies are the stakes features and some of the leading three-year-olds, including a number of eligi-bles for the American Derby, will meet in the Memorial Day Purse, next in point of importance among the seven races to be run. The Robert M. Sweitzer Handicap will bring together Gallant Knight, Mike Hall, Lady Broadcast, Best Man, Lightning Bolt, Tannery, Jean Lafitte, Manta, Jimmy Moran, Paul Bunyan and possibly Bargello and others over one mile and one eighth, while practically all of the outstanding western juvenile fillies are ready for the five and one-half furlongs of the Debutante Stakes. The probable starters include Gala Flight, Givanna, Princess Ivre, Ima High-one, Plucky Girl, Flash o White, Full Up, Play Around, Sally Irene and others. Some of the Robert M. Sweitzer Handicap candidates had their final trials this morning when Mike Hall, Lady Broadcast, Best Man and Lightning Bolt each worked a mile at Washington Park and Manta three-quarters at Lincoln Fields. Mike Hall, Lady Broadcast and Best Man were timed in 1:41%, the latter two working together, while Lightning Bolt went in 1:42. Manta sped over the three-quarters in 1:1M%.
