SUNTICA began slowly, but entered contention quickly while on the outside and, moving up fast, took the lead in the last eighth and drew away steadily thereafter. MARLENE, avoiding interference after the start, took an easy lead, but could not yvithstand the winner. SHEILA WOOD outstayed RUNFIRE. The latter, close up early, tired. JAFFA was croyvded back on the back stretch turn and had no chance thereafter. MALLEY MARCUS went wide throughout. PRINCESS STOLA and SNITCH ran out on the stretch turn. NAZOR. reserved for a turn of the field, took command at the eighth fence, was rated along thereafter and had enough left to yvithstand WILLINGDON. The latter, restrained while folloyving close to the leaders, lesponded gamely, but was held safe JOHN SOBIESKI continued gamely after losing command. MARCELLA made repeated bad landings GOLD TRAP was done after a mile. HUON JOY went lame and was pulled up going to the twelfth fence. JUDGE BARTLETT sprinted into an easy lead when moving into the back stretch and, responding gamely to punishment when challenged on the stretch turn, held EAGER PLAY safe in the last eighth. The latter saved for three quarters, moved up fast on the inside approaching the far turn, came to the outside of the winner, but was held safe near the end. MONTANARO, rated close to JUDGE BARTLETT, yvas not cood enough in the drive SPANISH was unable to get up. BUTTER JOHN was held safe throughout. FLORIDA GOLD, forwardly placed, moved up steadily when, called upon, but appeared to tire in the last sixteenth. MEANDER, bothered repeatedly and forced to take up, went to the outside in the stretch and finished fast. NAE BREEKS tired after forcing the pace. ANGRY LASS, a trailer for seven-eighths, finished boldly on the inside. OLD TIMES quit. Scratched— 59367 Fair Jean, 101. Overweight — Darksini, 1 pound ; Angry Lass, 2£.
