Start good out of machine. Won driving; second and third the same. SATIN SPAR, going in his best form and favored by the fast early pace, responded strongly when hard urged alter trailing to the stretch and, racing on the extreme outside, wore down the leaders in an extended drive. DON LEON, forced back by BROWN WISDOM on the far turn, closed gamely and headed BROWN WISDOM in the final stride. The latter, close up from the start, worked his way into the lead after a half mile, but tired. BETTY DERR showed speed, saved ground and held on fairly well. BIDE A WEE, close up from the start, saved much ground in the first three-quarters, responded gamely when called upon after eoing to the outside in the stretch and, wearing down the leaders, drew clear to win easily. THISTLE BILLIE, much used in alternating in the pacemaking, was on the inside throughout and, holding on well, outstayed COADY. The latter began slowly and, far back tor three quarters, closed with a rush. SHOW DOWN showed speed from the start, but tired badly in the last eighth. DURVA wa in close quarters in the chute and lacked speed when clear. PUNISHMENT raced wide. JENNIFER showed early speed. LOW GEAR was outrun. Scratched— 54674 J. A.
