BURNING UP IN THE CLASSIC Another "supplementary" nomination for the Arlington Park Classic at a cost of 00, Burning Up, son of Black Toney and Beach Talk, she by Sundridge, is Bradley bred. A bay of fine proportions and high speed, Burning Up won two races last season, and since New Years, he has scored six times, the last five straight, under the silks of Mrs. Emil Denemark of this city. The Denemarks have bought a farm on the Joliet road just south of Chicago and are going in for thoroughbred production. Burning Up looks first class Classic material. In his first race at Washington Park he licked Pittsburgher, Sunny Lassie, Chief John and Scotlands Glory. At Havana March 1 he defeated Belgian Lass, Smooth and Bushman in a Cuban Derby, stepping a mile and a furlong under 118 pounds in 1:52%. To win at Washington Park he had to accomplish a mile in 1:38%.
