CLOUDY showed the most speed until midway of the stretch, then tired and barely lasted to save third place. PRINCESS NIGHT closed with a rush on the inside entering the stretch and held on fairly well. VANDION raced forwardly most of the yvay. MARGE COLLINS raced on the outside of the leader until well into the stretch, then tired. BRAINS moved up strongly on the stretch turn, finished gamely and was wearing down the winner. EUPHRATES moved up fast entering the stretch and outgamed VAGABOND. The latter raced up into a contending position near the stretch turn and held on fairly well. ODERIC closed a big gap. STACCATO quit. FAIRYMAN showed good speed, but tired in the stretch. CROWNED HEAD was weakly ridden, was blocked on the far turn, but finished on his own courage. CURATOR and MARABOU tiied. AURICA moved up stoutly rounding the far turn, but tired when called on for the final effort. CLEMMIE Tan an even race. GERTRUDE READE was shuffled back after the start came and closed a wide gap.
