MEA, a factor from the start, responded to urging in the stretch and outlasted LINE OF FIRE in the final strides. The latter saved ground throughout and held on gamely. OUTGUESS finished well on the outside to outlast BRANDON PRINCE. The latter tired in the final sixteenth. PHANTOM ROCK raced well all the way. SPANFAIR showed a good performance. HOWE moved up fast under urging. KAGO raced well in spots. TRUST propped at the start and fell over, bothering SUN IMP. Scratched— 60010 Axenby, 107; 60010 Troyian. 107. Won driving; second and third the same. ST. VERNON, under early restraint, was badly blocked going to the eleventh fence and, taken back, came again with a rush in the final eighth and drew away. THE ACE II. jumped boldly, forced the pace throughout and held on gamely to outlast SPINNER. The latter, outrun to the first turn, finished fast on the outside. ABDUL II. moved up fast when called upon, but made a bad landing at the fifteenth fence, then tired. COMSTOCKERY and SPELLBOUND were outrun. ROYAL FALCON fell at the fifteenth fence. The latter was taken under restraint when outrun in the early stages, responded to urging in the stretch and finished fast. STAND BY, on the outside on the turn, bore in slightly at the eighth post. AKNAHTON, on the inside entering the stretch, was blocked at the eighth post and, forced to go to the outside, was bumped by STAND BY. PARTISAN was outrun. BREEZING THRU quit badly in the stretch. DANOUR showed good speed from the start, saved ground throughout and came again at the end. CLOCK TOWER, a factor, moved up fast in the stretch, but was bothered by ST. BRIDEAUX swerving over. SURF BOARD, close to the pace, was shuffled back on the turn. GREAT GUN dropped back entering the stretch. BLIND BOWBOY tired badly under urging. GAELIC PRINCE was outrun. SIR ASHLEY closed ground.
