DEATH OF FRED HILLMEYER The many friends of Fred Hillmeyer will be grieved to learn of his death in Baltimore on Saturday last. His remains were interred in the New York Bay cemetery at Glendale, N. J. In the old days of the bookmaker around New York, "Pomeroy Fred,* as he was then known, operated a big commission business. Later on, in leaner years, he was employed as custodian of the press stands at Havre de Grace, Laurel, Bowie, St. Johns Park and the Hialeah track in Florida. He was related by marriage to the late "Snapper" Garrison.
