RISQUE HEADS HERTZ STABLE ♦ Daughter of Stimulus and Stable-mates Reach Arlington Park. ♦ J*. W. Foreman Stable Arrives From Belmont Park With Leona Farm Racers — Ned O. Handicap Contender. I Arrivals at Arlington Park yesterday were the stables of John Hertz and G. W. Foreman, aggregating some forty thoroughbreds of various ages, all seasoned by spring racing. They came from Belmont Park apparently in fine condition. Foremost in the Hertz establishment is Risque, daughter of Stimulus and Risky, winner last season of the Lassie Stakes at Arlington and the Spinaway at Saratoga. Successful in her last three races at Belmont Park, Risque is the most formidable rival now for the current seasons three-year-old filly crown of Tambour, winner of the Coaching Club American Oaks at Belmont Park, and Cousin Jo, winner of the Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs. She did not start in the Coaching Club American Oaks because she was not eligible. With luck she will meet Cousin Jo and Tambour, also, Scuttle, contender in the Coaching Club American Oaks, and Toney Princess, Betty Derr, Blind Lane, Dark Magnet, Martha Jones, Ann Arundel, Ladana, Thais, Avenger and Alyssum in the Arlington Oaks. Risque is in the Arlington Matron Handicap with her four-year-old stable companion Valenciennes, which won the Matron inaugural last year. Valenciennes finished her three-year-old career at Bowie last November by defeating Lady Broadcast, Mokatam, Sun Mission, Inception, Grey Coat and Spinach in the Thanksgiving Handicap. Mokatam defeated Questionnaire recently in the Suburban Handicap at Belmont Park. Valenciennes is in splendid condition. The racing and training she and her stable companions, some twenty in number, had at Jamaica and Belmont Park in May and June was intended as a preparation for the Arlington meeting. Frank Hackett and Bill Knapp have the Hertz string in charge. The stable jockey is Earl Steffen. Valenciennes is in the Stars and Stripes and Arlington Handicaps and the Arlington Cup, as well as the Matron Handicap. Well Heeled, a son of Royal Canopy, was a winner during the Belmont Park meeting. Ned O., son of Campfire and La Flambee, is Foremans best horse. Last summer — July 18 — he set a new Arlington Park mark of 1:23% for seven furlongs when he defeated Pansy Walker, High Foot, Maya, Dark Entry and Morsel in an overnight race. He finished third to Gallant Fox and Gallant Knight in the Classic. He is a good distance runner, and Foreman has saved him this season specifically for Arlington racing. He will start in the Arlington and Stars and Stripes Handicaps and the Arlington Cup. He is a possible starter, also, in the Inaugural Handicap, seven furlongs, for three-year-olds and over. •
