NOSTAVV, close up but in close quarters, saved ground in the first three-quarters and, closing gamely, outfinished ROYAL RUFFIN. The latter, takea into the lead, showed good speed, saved ground and only tired in the final stages. CALF ROPER closed gamely. The latter showed speed from the start, saved ground to the stretch and bore out when tiring. SNOWFLAKE raced well. SILVERDALE, close up on the inside for five eighths, challenged in the stretch, then tired. MAYA also tired. ULUNIU did not improve his position.
