MRS. PHIPPS BUYS EIGHT LEXINGTON, Ky.. June 23.— C. V. Whitney has sold to Mrs. H. C. Phipps of New York eight yearling thoroughbreds which will remain at the Whitney farm near Lexington until trainer James Fitzsimmons directs that they be sent to him at Belmont Park to be broken. They are: bay colt, by Upset — Rose OGrady, by Hamburg; bay colt, by Blondin — Ponury, by Pennant; bay colt, by Broomstick — Priggish, by Mad Hatter; bay colt, by Chicle — Rowes Bud, by Broomstick; bay filly, by Pennant — Arthusa, by Broomstick; bay filly, by Chicle — Fly Leaf, by Broomstick; bay filly, by Upset — Dender, by Rabalais; chestnut filly, by Mad Hatter — Exposay, by Dominant.
