LATONIA TRAINING GALLOPS All Hail Goes Mile and Half in 2:34% in Preparation for La- tonia Derby Engagement. LATONIA, Ky., June 23.— Working before the heavy rain, which transformed the track to sloppy going, C. Gregorys All Hail was given his final stiff preparation for his Latonia Derby engagement. The son of Golden Broom, with 130 pounds up, broke from the five-eighths pole and went the full Derby route of one mile and one-half in 2:34%, breezing. The exercise boy had a good hold of him for the greater part of the distance, and he ran the quarter in :24%, the half in :50%, the three-quarters in 1:16%, the mile in 1:42%, the mile and one-eighth in 1:55% and the mile and one-quarter in 2:07%. Due to the large number of recent arrivals the track was the scene of much activity. A great number of candidates for the six stakes to be decided during the approaching meeting were called on for ambitious moves. Bargello, which C. V. Whitney named for the Independence and Enquirer Handicaps, breezed a mile in 1:43% under the supervision of trainer Mose Goldblatt. He ran the quarter in :24%, the half in :51% and the three-quarters in 1:17. Bargello worked before the rain and the track was in fast condition. L. G. Thiesens Swift Pal, candidate for the Latonia Derby, was sent a mile in 1:42. He went away fast, covering the quarter in :23%, the half in :47% and the three-quarters in 1:14%. With the track deep in slop, Mose Gold-blatts K. Russell, Cincinnati Trophy eligible, working with Pollywog, breezed five-eighths in 1:04%. He clicked off the quarter in :24% and the half in :50%. Wise Talk, W. E. Smiths Cincinnati Trophy eligible, went a handy five-eighths in 1:06%. He broke from the five-eighths pole and worked to the stand. Mince Pie, Latonia Oaks eligible, was sent an easy mile in 1:51%. F. P. Letellier gave the filly a rest after the Churchill Downs meeting, and it was the first mile he has sent her since the letup. J. B. Respess good colt Grand Champion breezed his first five-eighths since recovering from bucked shins, and ran the distance in 1:02%. He reeled off the quarter in :23% and the half in :48%. Grand Union, from the same barn, and another Cincinnati Trophy candidate, went an easy half mile in :50%. He covered the quarter in :24.
