ELEANORS CHOICE, close up from the start, responded gamely to strong urging after reaching the closing quarter and, gradually improving her position, got up in the final stride. THISTLE TELEE began slowly, raced around the others on the first turn and quickly drew into command while saving ground on the stretch turn, but could not withstand the winner. ZINA lost ground on the turn and held on fairly well. ARHA WANNA, unable to keep up after a quarter, quit badly. LOHI had early speed. fmflJLflA SECOND RACE— 3-4 Mile. GUIDE RIGHT improved his position steadily after going the first quarter and, taking the lead at mid-stretch, held sway to the end. ESME was going well at the end, but did not threaten the winner. OH YEAH raced gamely throughout. MARDIE tired in the stretch. BELL OF BOURBON tired badly in the stretch after racing into contention un the outside approaching the turn. BILL MORRIS dashed into the lead soon after the start, but stumbled and quit. Overweight — Oh Yeah, 2 pounds: Mardie, 1£; Austerlitz, 1. ANITA ORMONT could not untrack herself in the going and was far back all the wav. DEPRESSION began well and, racing close to the pace, saved ground on the stretch turn to take command when straightened out in the stretch and held MODERN QUEEN safe. The latter showed early speed and raced well after being headed. SALLY IRENE joined the loaders on the outside soon after the start, but went wide on the stretch turn and could not get up. NO MORE began fast, challenged mildly on the turn and tired after five eighths. MAYA raced wide and held on evenly in the last quarter. PERCENTAGE, although away well, could not keep up with the early leaders, but came again in the stretch to wear down HIGH POCKETS and score in a driving finish. HIGH POCKETS sprinted into the lead in the first quarter and opened up a good lead, but tired in the stretch and barely lasted to save second place. HALF DAY hugged, the rail and finished fast. ZIDA dashed into the lead after pissing the far turn, but was no match for the winner. SHOW DOWN tired after setting the pace. SUNNY MORN raced evenlv. GENGHIS KHAN quit badly.
