t FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES $ : : Jockey E. Level, who underwent a minor operation yesterday, was reported as doing nicely today. Nominations for the 0,000 added Louisiana Derby, principal stake on the program for the current Fair Grounds meeting were augmented by the subscription of David J. Elys Heroville, among the late entries for the race which closes the preliminary subscriptions Saturday, but will remain open for supplementary entries until March 5. Heroville is an imported gray son of Herodole and Merville, by Myra M. The entry of Heroville brought the number of eligibles for the local Derby to close to fifty, with the possibility of a few more from far off Agua Caliente. The remains of Edward Moore will be shipped from here to Jefferson, Ohio, home of the widow, tonight. At Jefferson the body; will be taken to the Miller Funeral Parlors, from whence it will be removed to the final resting place Wednesday afternoon. All of the horses in the division of the Shandon Farm at the Fair Grounds are to be disposed of privately. J. B. Partridge, trainer of the stable, will leave for Kentucky, where he will take up Burning Blaze and twenty other of the Shannon horses within a few days. R. G. Denny has resigned as trainer of the stable of A. B. Letellier, local owner, and will take over the horses of his late brother, Logan, who died suddenly at Miami last A week. Capt. B. C. Bunbury assumes charge A of the Letellier stable today.
