DIXIE HANDICAP WEIGHTS Mate Given Post of Honor in Mary-v land Jockey Clubs 5,000 Added Spring Fixture. BALTIMORE, Md., Feb. 2. Weights for the Dixie Handicap, with 5,000 added, by the Maryland Jockey Club, for three-year-olds and over, which will be run at the old Pimlico course May 7, were announced Monday by handicapper Frank J. Bryan. The distance of the Dixie is one mile and three-Sixteenths and heading the handicap is A. C. Bostwicks Mate, with 128 pounds. The same ; .Colt has been given an equal burden in the mile of the Metropolitan Handicap, which probably will be run at Belmont Park late in May and for which W. S. Vosburgh assigns the weights. With 128 pounds in the saddle in the Dixie, Mate carries one pound more than the scale. C. V. Whitneys Equipoise is second in the list with 127 pounds, scale weight. Morton li. Schwartz Clock Tower, also a four-year-bid, is burdened with 124 pounds, receiving three pounds from Equipoise and four from Matei Gallant Knight is rated at 121 pounds, ysrhile Vander Pool is in with 117 pounds.
