. MARYLAND TURF NOTES 9 : : $ W. R. Kirkpatrick, local turfman, has purchased Jimmy D., four-year-old son of My Play and Zenora, from O. T. Gosnell arid had him unsexed. Jimmy D. is at Bowie. Frank Riggs, honorary secretary of the Maryland Jockey Club, is in New York to attend the dog show, while Mrs. L. S. Ker-noschen, secretary to general manager Daiger, is at White Springs, Fla., for her health. In the absence of Daiger, Riggs and Mrs. Kernoschen, Edward J. Brennan is handling the affairs of the organization, which runs the Pimlico track. Mrs. Frederick Vollmer of this city has won ten races since shipping her stable to Cuba. She never fails to cable her friends when she thinks one of her charges has a chance. Paul Codd, local turfman, cabled from Cuba that he will start Medicine Bow and Menelek in the Cuban Mile Championship Sunday. Harry Rites has moved the Leslie E. Keiffer string to Pimlico from winter quarters at Monkton, Md. Heading the Keiffer string is Daisaburo, candidate for the Preakness.
