PRINCESS NANCY saved much ground, withstood the drive gamely and was going resolutely in the final stages. TENNYWOOD began fast and showed speed, bore out badly on the turn and, racing wide thereafter, held on well and might have been best. K. RUSSELL, fractious at the post, raced vide most of the way and could not get up. CLOIDO roughed his way through in the stretch. IVAN W. took the lead when TENNYWOOD bore out and tired badly in the drive. BEGGAR LADY was outrun. KNIGHT CLUB was placed .outside the machine at the start. LADY SWEET, taken into the lead and under light restraint for throe-quarters, drew away on the stretch turn, but could not withstand the winner. SUPER TOY, close up throughout, lost ground and held on gamely. PRIMEVAL could not get up. SANTA SOPHIA began very slowly. "BEAUTY SECRET was under hard urging after half a mile. BOSTON WATERS broke fast, was headed as he went wide at the elbow, but quickly returned to the lead when straightened out in the stretch and, drawing into decisive command, won easily. PAINT BOX dwelt at the start and was in close quarters entering the final quarter, but displayed exceptional speed when clear and the experience and effort may benefit him. CRUCIAL TEST, a strong factor throughout, held on well. FAIR IMAGE raced well and closed strong. FOUNTAIN had no mishaps. NORMAN P. lost much ground from an outer position and could not get up. HOOPS, slow to get going, began moving up fast on the outside after reaching the last three-eighths, quickly wore down OPEN HEARTH and, drawing clear, was taken in hand the last seventy yards. STIMULATOR was taken under light restraint after an eighth during which he was unable to get to the leaders, was in close quarters entering the stretch, and closed with a rush when clear. OPEN HEARTH, given a hustling ride, had speed, but weakened in the final drive. CHU CHU, up close early, was taken back presumably in an attempt to get to the outside at the stretch, and weakened in the drive. BOOBY BIRD had speed under light reserve for a half mile, but failed to respond when put to a drive, and was cased when eliminated. Scratched 68424 Pietro, 115.
