PREDICT LEXINGTON MEETING Kentucky Horsemen Await Announcement of Spring Dates Because of Daily Tax Cut. LEXINGTON, Ky., Feb. 25. The bill for the reduction to 00 of the daily license tax for Kentucky tracks besides those at La-tonia and Louisville, having passed the senate of the general assembly this morning, it is the expectations of horsemen here that announcement will be forthcoming within the next few days of a spring meeting at Lexington. It appears certain that the new measure, which contains an emergency clause to make it effective immediately, will become a law since it now needs only the signature of the governor. While no official announcement has been made, it is understood here that Lexington will have a meeting of ten days, the probable dates of which are Saturday, April 16, through Wednesday, April 27. The winter has been so open that horses at the Kentucky Association track have come through in better health than in many years. The gallops are speeding up quite a bit. Quarters in :24 are frequent.
