LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS "Hank" Mills, J. McCoy and G. Smith staged a nip and tuck battle for riding honors last, week, but wound up tied with eleven successful mounts each. Mills remained in third place; and his eleven winners had no effect on his standing among the leaders, but G. Smith moved up a couple of notches and headed Melvin Lewis. J. McCoy made the greatest gain of the trio, but he is still far from the top. J. Gilbert had his poorest week in a month, riding only five winners, but he still has a big lead on G.
