DERBY CANDIDATE ARRIVES LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 8. With the thermometer registering close to zero Sunday, and more than an inch of snow and ice on the ground, most trainers at the local tracks refrained from sending their charges from under the stable sheds, and only a few rounds of the barns were made before the horses were done up and put away for the day. Another Kentucky Derby candidate, Barashkova, by For Fair Kiva, owned by Lon Jones and Son, was moved in from the farm with other horses of this stable and quartered at the Downs. Jones is owner of the National Stock Farm, near Louisville, where his racing stock has been undergoing light training for some time. Barashkova will be put to the task of being prepared for his Derby engagement in earnest now. Besides Barashkova, the four-year-old Upsweep snd the three-year-olds Kuvrra and Devlin, are in the Jones band, while he has a brown colt, by For Fair-Lady Rochester, a chestnut colt by For Fair De Luxe and a bay filly by the same sire, which will race in the juvenile division this year. A bay two-year-old filly, by Selim Chap-let, is the remaining member of the string.
