FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES y John Marsch, Chicago owner, whose colors have played an important part in the Fair Grounds racing this winter, returned from Chicago and St. Louis and will remain for the meeting. Immediately following the close vof the season, trainer Tommy Root will ship the eight horses he has raced successfully here for Raymond Dohle, to Fairmount Park. They will rest at the Collinsville track for several weeks, following which they will be prepared for campaigning at Exposition Park, Aurora. William Irvine, trainer of the S. W. La-brot stable, returned from his employers Holly Beach Farm, Annapolis, Md. He will personally direct the final preparation of Springsteel and Open Hearth for the Louisiana Derby, in which the latter was entered Saturday. Albert Mott is making the riding engagements of jockeys R. Morrison and W. Mag-ner. Jockey Willie Garner, who rode in fine form here since the opening of the season is leaving for his home at Centerville, Iowa tomorrow. He will be accompanied by his mother, and they will make the trip by; mclor. Following a two weeks rest, Garner; reports to the Shandon, Farm Stable afe Lexington. J. G. Josiah acquired a half interest in the horses My Sweets and Bottled Bourbon which his brother, E. Josiah, has been trainr ing for J. Poland. In the future they will race as the property, of Poland and Jpsiatu
